Kerendahan Hati

Kalau engkau tak mampu menjadi beringin
yang tegak di puncak bukit
Jadilah belukar, tetapi belukar yang baik,
yang tumbuh di tepi danau

Kalau kamu tak sanggup menjadi belukar,
Jadilah saja rumput, tetapi rumput yang
memperkuat tanggul pinggiran jalan

Kalau engkau tak mampu menjadi jalan raya
Jadilah saja jalan kecil,
Tetapi jalan setapak yang
Membawa orang ke mata air

Tidaklah semua menjadi kapten
tentu harus ada awak kapalnya....
Bukan besar kecilnya tugas
yang menjadikan tinggi rendahnya nilai dirimu

Jadilah saja dirimu....
Sebaik-baiknya dari dirimu sendiri

A life of Paradox

This is a master piece. If you have not read it, take the time to read it now.
If you have read it, take time to read it again!

GEORGE CARLIN
(His wife recently died...and George followed her, dying July 2008)

Isn't it amazing that George Carlin - comedian of the 70s and
80s - could write something so very eloquent...and so very appropriate.

A Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings
but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints..
We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less
We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences,
but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge,
but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine,
but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too
little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired,
read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk
too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years
to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back,
but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor.
We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things,
but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the
atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan
more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We
build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies
than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small
character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days
of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes.
These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality,
one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from
cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom
window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring
this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this
insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not
going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because
that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is
the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but
most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes
from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person
will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious
thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments
that take our breath away.

Ask ?

I asked God to take away my pain.
God said, No.
It is not for me to take away,
but for you to give it up.

I asked God to grant me patience.
God said, No.
Patience is a by-product of tribulations,
it isn't granted, it is earned.

I asked God to give me happiness.
God said, No.
I give you blessings,
Happiness is up to you.

I asked God to spare me suffering.
God said, No.
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares
and brings you closer to me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said, No.
You must grow on your own,
but I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked for all things that I might enjoy life.
God said, No.
I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things.

I ask God to help me love others, as much as he loves me.

God said...
Ahhhh, finally you have the idea.

We cannot merely pray to you, Oh God

We cannot merely pray to you, O God, to end war;
For we know that You have made the world in a way
That man must find his own path for peace
Within himself and his neighbor.

We cannot merely pray to you, O God, to end starvation;
For you have already given us the resources
With which to feed the entire world
If only we would use them wisely.

We cannot merely pray to you, O God, to root out prejudice;
For you have already given us eyes
With which to see the good in all men
If only we would use them rightly.

We cannot merely pray to you, O God, to end despair;
For you have already given us the power
To clear away slums and to give hope
If we would only use our power justly.

We cannot merely pray to you, O God, to end disease;
For you have already given us great minds
With which to search out cures and healing
If we would only use them constructively.

Therefore, we pray to you instead, O God,
For strength, determination, and will power,
To do instead of just to pray,
To become instead of merely to wish.

Another Jewel of Wisdom from My Guardian Angels

1.Batu setelah dilempar

2.Kata-kata setelah diucapkan

3.Kesempatan setelah berlalu

4.Waktu setelah beranjak pergi

:)

A Short Message From My Two Guardian Angel

Dan memang....
Asa dan usaha adalah urusan insani
Sementara hasil adalah milikNya

Dia telah menggoreskan hitam dan putih
Bisa dipengaruhi sepenuhnya atau tidak sama sekali
Oleh asa dan usaha yang diperbuat manusia

Namun yakinlah...
Bahwa Dia tidak pernah akan keliru
Goreskan mana yang seharusnya hitam
Dan mana yang mestinya putih

*terima kasih ma, pa..*tears..

The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change
courage to change the things I can
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time
Enjoying one moment at a time
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next
Amen.

Berhentilah Jadi Gelas.

Someone special sent me this inspiring story through my email. I hope this story can also inspires you too....Never give up...Never give in..Never let a ray of doubt slip in...dear God always be with us no matter what.

Seorang guru mendatangi seorang muridnya ketika wajahnya belakangan ini selalu tampak murung.

Kenapa kau selalu murung, nak? Kemana perginya wajah bersyukurmu?” sang Guru bertanya.

“Guru, belakangan ini hidup saya penuh masalah. Sulit bagi saya untuk tersenyum. Masalah datang seperti tak ada habis-habisnya,” jawab sang murid muda.

Sang Guru terkekeh. “Nak, ambil segelas air dan dua genggam garam. Bawalah kemari. Biar kuperbaiki suasana hatimu itu.

“Si murid pun beranjak pelan tanpa semangat. Ia laksanakan permintaan gurunya itu, lalu kembali lagi membawa gelas dan garam sebagaimana yang diminta.

“Coba ambil segenggam garam, dan masukkan ke segelas air itu,” kata Sang Guru.

“Setelah itu coba kau minum airnya sedikit.” Si murid pun melakukannya. Wajahnya kini meringis karena meminum air asin.

“Bagaimana rasanya?” tanya Sang Guru.

“Nak,” kata Sang Guru setelah muridnya selesai minum.

My note:
*Kalian tahu mengapa Tuhan menciptakan ruang kosong diantara jari tangan kita?

so be thankful for all of the sorrow, all of the tests that God given us. They make us grow up, they enrich and colour our life...stop whining and complaining! just enjoy your life, guys! coz God is Good...

Watch Your Tongue

A friend of mine, who has a dream to meet Santa Claus, told me this story. Enjoy it.

Reno was traveling in a crowded bus. He was carrying the passport size photograph of his son for college admission.

Accidentally, the photograph dropped down from his pocket. He started searching for it frantically and found it on the floor below the ends of a woman’s saree.

He asked her, “can you lift your saree?” I wanna take photograph”. The rest is self-explanatory. He was beaten so badly that he had to be admitted to hospital. He was surprised to see Obama on the bed next to him in worse condition.

Obama explain what happened to him. He had gone to a remote village to work. He finished late and missed the last bus.

He could not find any hotel so he approached a house nearby and asked the hosts whether they would allow him to stay there for a night. The owner replied, “I have two grown-up daughters. Sorry, you can’t stay here”.

Dissapointed, Obama approached the next house and asked the owner whether he could stay there for a night. This one also replied, “I have three grown-up daughters. Sorry, you can’t stay here.”

He thought he had asked the wrong question so this time he wanted to rephrase it. He went to the next house and asked, “Do you have grown-up daughters?”

The owner replied, “Why?” and Obama said: “I want to stay for a night”. The whole village came out and beat him up till he fainted.

Moral of the story: Words can send you into deep trouble if you don’t use them correctly.

Market is a social construction. Let's fight to reconstruct it !!!

This is a well written piece from Mas Dedy's notes. Read it, Think about it, and Do something about it!

Market (for media industries, including television industry) is not a "natural" reality, nor an "objective", legitimate, inevitable and something which is "out there". Market is always a social constuction, with its own history, involving interest-based social actors, and power relations among them.
What are the laws, rules and regulations by which markets operate, how is the existing distribution of resources, what are the public wants, and how something came to be what the public wants (Termehek-mehek, Take Him Out, Bukan Empat Mata, Masihkah Kau Mencintaiku, etc), and how is the legimacy of market product -- all has its own history, and were socially constructed, under a specific power relations that in most cases unequally distributed. The market, therefore, tend to represent the interest of those with power surplus.
MacEwan (1999) told his father's favorite story, which is nicely can be used to give an illustration about the idea of "market is a social construction" :

A young London labourer, on his day off, decided to take a walk in the countryside. As he strolled through the woods, he came to a stone fence. Not seeing why this should limit his outing, he hoped over the fence and continued on his way. Rounding a turn in the path, he found himself face to face with a gentleman who said indignantly:
"Do you realize you are trespassing on my land?!"
The young labourer replied "So this is your land, is it?"
"Yes, indeed it is !!!" answered the gentleman.
"Well," the young labourer queried, "how did you get this land?"
"I got it from my father!"
"And how did your father get it??"
"He got it from my grandfather!!"
"And how did your grandfather got it?"
"From my grandfather's father" answered the increasingly irritated gentleman.
"And how did your grandfather's father got it?"
"Well I suppose he fought for it" proclaimed the gentleman, not without a hint of pride in his voice.
"All right, then," said the young labourer "I'll fight you for it !!!"

Welcome Aboard!

Hello All!

One day, my friend asked me, "Do you have a blog?" ..pause......then, I answered No. At that time, I wondered my self, "why should I have one?" I love writing articles, stories, etc but I used to keep it personal. I did not want anybody know about what I have done or what I am doing.

Then, my friend told me: "Dont you want to share your experiences, your life with everyone? Who knows they will get an insight or maybe they can learn something useful from your writing?"

Those words: share and learn, were stucked in my mind for a moment. Then I decided to make a blog. and here's my first post in my first blog! :D

Well, this blog tells you about every ordinary miracles happened in my precious God's gift, Life. I thank God for giving me such a wonderful life filled with wonderful people and experiences. I learnt a lot from every single moments that I have passed. Those enrich my journey and hopefully grant me more wisdom in seeing things.

I name my blog "Ordinary Miracles" because of Sarah Mclahan. One of her song, called Ordinary Miracle, is the original soundtrack of Charllote's Web, also one of my fave movies all the time. I love the lyric of the song.

"It’s not that usual when everything is beautiful
It’s just another ordinary miracle today

Life is like a gift they say, wrapped up for you everyday
Open up and find a way, to give some of your own..."

See, it's beautiful, isnt it? The first time I heard this song, I just fell in love and repeated it for almost 15 times :D. How beautiful it is...the lyrics..the melody..and well, this song inspires me to give a name for my blog title.

Then, I chose Rainbow Chaser as my blog address because I love that name. It came from my beloved professor, Prof. Dedy N Hidayat, Phd. He's a wonderful lecturer with a beautiful soul. I valued our friendship though it was short since he passed away last week.

Okay, I think it's enough for the introduction part. Enjoy. Have a gr8 day! :-)
